HR Policy - Audit & Design

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) state that HR policies and procedures can help organisations to develop fair and consistent approaches to managing and developing people and can protect against legal claims.

HR Policies need updating regularly to ensure they continue to address the overall organisation strategy and comply with changing economic conditions and employment legislation. Small organisations will only require a small selection of policies and procedures, but as an organisation grows, others need to be added.

We can help by auditing client's current HR policies for relevance to organisational needs, consistency of approach and compliance with employment legislation. We can also help design new HR policies to reflect changing economic circumstances while continuing to attract and retain current and future employees.

We take the view that HR policies should be:

  1. Clear and consistent.
  2. Written in plain English.
  3. Communicated to all employees.
  4. Easily accessible.
  5. Regularly reviewed to ensure they are fit for purpose.

Good HR policies provide all employees with guidance about their own and the organisation's responsibilities and can prevent wasting time and resources.
We understand the importance of line managers to the implementation of HR policies and we provide appropriate training programmes to ensure proper understanding and application of changing policies.
